Racingline Upgraded Boost Pipe Kit for MQB EA888 Gen.4 (Continental Turbo) – VWR140013

The Racingline Boost Pipe Kit (VWR140013) is a direct replacement for the factory boost pipework on 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen.4 “evo” engines fitted with the Continental turbocharger. It swaps the restrictive, failure-prone plastic OEM pipes for smooth, mandrel-bent aluminium hard-pipes and a reinforced silicone turbo outlet hose, giving cleaner airflow, faster turbo response and a far more durable charge path.

What the kit does

The factory boost pipes on the Gen.4 platform are a known weak point. They restrict airflow, create turbulence through the charge path and can fail under sustained boost, particularly on tuned cars. By replacing them with smoother, larger-bore tubing, the turbo meets less resistance, allowing it to move a greater volume of air more efficiently. The result is improved throttle response, faster spool, a slightly more audible turbo and a charge path that is built to handle higher boost pressures without flexing or blowing off.

What’s in the kit

The three-piece kit replaces the pipework between the turbocharger, intercooler and throttle body:

• Mandrel-bent aluminium hard-pipe from turbo to intercooler
• Mandrel-bent aluminium hard-pipe from intercooler to throttle body
• Reinforced multi-ply silicone hose for the turbo outlet

Design and build quality

Both hard-pipes are formed from single-piece, 6000 series aluminium with a 60mm outer diameter and a thin wall for maximum internal flow. Each pipe is hand polished, anodised black and finished with laser etched Racingline logos, so it looks at home in the engine bay and stays looking that way.

The silicone turbo outlet hose is hand-wound multi-ply over internal wire reinforcement, giving it excellent resistance to heat and deformation under boost. Barbed ends on the hard-pipes prevent any risk of the hoses blowing off, even at elevated boost pressures.

Mounting brackets are TIG welded for dimensional accuracy, and the kit includes a stainless steel Mikalor clamp, OEM rubber mounting bobbins and new bolts so everything bolts up properly first time.

Fitment

This kit is designed specifically for MQB platform vehicles running the EA888 Gen.4 (“evo4”) 2.0 TSI engine with the Continental turbocharger. This covers a range of popular VW, Audi, SEAT/Cupra and Skoda models including Golf Mk8 GTI, Tiguan, Audi A3/S3, Cupra Leon/Formentor and Skoda Octavia vRS variants.

Turbo variant matters: the EA888 Gen.4 is fitted with either a Continental or an IHIS turbocharger depending on application. This kit is for the Continental version only. Please use the vehicle lookup or check the Vehicle Fitment tab to confirm the correct kit for your car before ordering.

Installation

Installation is a direct OEM replacement with no cutting or drilling required, so the modification is fully reversible. The pipes will work with the factory rubber connecting hoses, but for best results we recommend pairing them with the Racingline Gen.4 Boost Hose Kit (VWR140006) to complete the charge path upgrade end to end.
